Freelance Marketing Assistant
We are a small but growing live fish ecommerce business based in San Diego, passionate about the hobby and building something real. We sell on Shopify and eBay and are looking for a marketing student who wants hands-on experience building their portfolio while helping us grow.
What you'll do each month
- Edit and create weekly short-form video, photo, and graphic content for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook using footage and photos we provide
- Write and update Shopify product descriptions
- Write blog posts for our Shopify store
- Send a weekly newsletter and campaign emails via Klaviyo to showcase products and drive sales
- Manage SMS campaigns to our Klaviyo list
- Submit all content for approval before publishing
- Send a brief recap of content performance each month
What we're looking for
- Current marketing student looking for real-world experience to build their portfolio
- Experience creating and editing social media content
- Experience with Klaviyo or similar email/SMS platforms is a plus
- Passion for fish or the aquatics hobby is a big plus
- Self-starter who can manage their own time and meet deadlines
What success looks like
- Consistent month over month growth in Shopify sales driven by marketing efforts
- Measurable increase in revenue attributed to email and SMS campaigns
- Growing social media engagement that converts to store traffic and sales
