FAQ for Grade AA Thai Lionchu White Tiger 3" Body Male 6 Months (C1003)
1. What should I feed my Thai Lionchu White Tiger?
Feed your Grade AA Thai Lionchu White Tiger a balanced diet of high-quality goldfish pellets and flakes. Supplement their diet with bloodworms, daphnia, and vegetables like peas and spinach. Feed them 2-3 times a day, offering only what they can consume within 2-3 minutes to avoid overfeeding.
2. What is the ideal water temperature for Thai Lionchu White Tiger?
Thai Lionchu White Tigers thrive in water temperatures between 68°F to 75°F (20°C to 24°C). Maintain a stable temperature to prevent stress and ensure optimal health.
3. What size tank does a Thai Lionchu White Tiger need?
A 20-30 gallon tank is recommended for a single Thai Lionchu White Tiger. As they grow, you may need to upgrade to a larger tank, ideally 40 gallons or more. Ensure your tank has adequate filtration and room for swimming.
4. Can Thai Lionchu White Tigers be kept with other fish?
Yes, Grade AA Thai Lionchu White Tigers are peaceful goldfish and can be kept with other calm goldfish species, such as Ranchus, Orandas, or Lionchus. Avoid aggressive or fast-swimming species that may stress them out, and consider bottom-dwelling fish like Corydoras catfish for tank mates.
5. How do I care for my Thai Lionchu White Tiger’s wen (head growth)?
The wen (head growth) of the Thai Lionchu White Tiger requires regular attention. Use a soft sponge or brush with aquarium water to gently clean the wen. Avoid harsh scrubbing to prevent damaging this delicate growth. Keep the water clean to support healthy wen development.
6. What are common health problems in Thai Lionchu White Tigers?
Thai Lionchu White Tigers may experience common goldfish health issues, such as swim bladder disease, fin rot, or Ich. To prevent illness:
- Maintain a clean tank with regular water changes (20-30% per week).
- Feed a high-quality, balanced diet and avoid overfeeding.
- Ensure stable water conditions (proper pH, ammonia, and nitrate levels).
- Quarantine new fish before introducing them to your main tank to avoid introducing diseases.
7. How do I acclimate my Thai Lionchu White Tiger to a new tank?
To acclimate your Thai Lionchu White Tiger, float the sealed bag in the new tank for 15-20 minutes to match the temperature. Gradually add small amounts of tank water to the bag over the course of 30-60 minutes. After acclimation, gently release your fish into the tank, avoiding sudden exposure to different water conditions.
8. What is the expected lifespan of a Thai Lionchu White Tiger?
With proper care, your Grade AA Thai Lionchu White Tiger can live 10-15 years. Regular tank maintenance, proper feeding, and monitoring water conditions will help ensure a long, healthy life.
9. How fast will my Thai Lionchu White Tiger grow?
At 6 months old, your Thai Lionchu White Tiger should already be about 3 inches in body length. These goldfish typically grow at a rate of about 1 inch per month during their first year, reaching their full adult size of 6-8 inches in around 2-3 years.
10. Is the Grade Thai Lionchu White Tiger male or female?
The Thai Lionchu White Tiger you're purchasing is a male. Male Lionchus typically have more defined features and a more prominent wen growth, adding to their striking appearance.
11. Can I breed my Thai Lionchu White Tiger?
Breeding Thai Lionchu White Tigers is possible, especially if they are healthy and well-cared for. However, breeding requires specific environmental conditions, including a temperature of 72°F to 78°F (22°C to 25°C) and plenty of space. Proper knowledge of breeding techniques and tank setup is essential to ensure the success of spawning.
12. How do I prevent illness in my Thai Lionchu White Tiger?
To prevent illness in your Thai Lionchu White Tiger, follow these best practices:
- Perform regular water changes to maintain a clean environment.
- Provide a balanced diet to boost immunity.
- Avoid overcrowding the tank.
- Keep an eye on water quality (pH, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates) to ensure it's within safe parameters.

Do you offer a live arrival guarantee?

What is the Direct from Farm collection?
The Direct from Farm collection is our preorder system where you can select fish directly from our farm in Thailand. Because we carefully source each fish, this process takes a little longer—approximately 2 weeks for the fish to arrive from Thailand and another week for quarantine before being shipped to you. This ensures that your fish are healthy and acclimated before they reach your aquarium.
How do I care for my new fish once they arrive?
When your fish arrive, it’s important to acclimate them gradually to your tank’s water temperature. Ensure your aquarium is fully cycled and that water parameters (temperature, pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels) are stable. If you need any tips on setting up your tank or caring for your fish, feel free to reach out!
