Shop live Red Devil Super Red angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) for sale, one of the most popular red angelfish in the hobby. Red Devils are prized for their deep, solid red color that gets richer as they grow. Our fish are tank raised, imported directly from breeders in Southeast Asia, and quarantined for at least 1 week at our San Diego facility before they ship. This is an Our Choice listing, so we pick healthy fish for you in the size you choose. Choose Next Day Air or 2 Day shipping for our Live Arrival Guarantee.
Each size is sold as 1 fish, 5 fish, or 7 fish. Groups cost less per fish.
Red Devils are fasted before shipping to keep the water clean, so their color fades for a while. Your fish may arrive pale, orange, or even yellow. This is normal, and smaller fish show less color at first. Our photos are taken after the fish settle in. With a daily color diet, your fish will deepen back to full red. We recommend Crimson Rise color enhancing food plus brine shrimp. Learn more in our guide: Red Devil Angelfish: What Makes Them Special.
Your estimated delivery date shows at checkout, and your fish ships anytime between your order date and that date. Every angelfish is quarantined and health checked before it ships. If anything delays your order past the target date, we email you with the reason. Questions about availability? Message us anytime.
Our Live Arrival Guarantee covers Next Day Air and UPS 2 Day shipping only. If your fish arrives dead, contact us within 1 hour of confirmed delivery at garageaquatics@outlook.com. Put DOA and your order number in the subject line, and include clear photos and video of the fish in the unopened bag. Valid claims receive store credit for the value of the fish. Shipping costs are not refundable. Read our full DOA and refund policy and shipping policy.
What is a Red Devil angelfish?
A Red Devil, or Super Red, is a line bred freshwater angelfish selected for a deep, solid red body. It is one of the most colorful red angelfish varieties available.
Why is my Red Devil angelfish pale or orange?
Stress from shipping and fasting before travel make the color fade. It returns over a few weeks with clean water and a daily color enhancing diet.
How many Red Devil angelfish should I keep together?
A pair does well in 30 gallons. For a group of 5 to 7, plan for 55 gallons or more so they can settle into pairs.
Can Red Devil angelfish live with neon tetras?
Young angelfish usually leave small fish alone, but adults may eat very small fish like neon tetras. Choose larger tank mates for adults.
How big do Red Devil angelfish get?
About 6 inches long and up to 8 inches tall including fins.
When will my fish ship?
Your fish ships between your order date and the estimated delivery date shown at checkout. If we need more time, we email you the reason.

The Direct from Farm collection is our preorder system where you can select fish directly from our farm in Thailand. Because we carefully source each fish, this process takes a little longerโapproximately 2 weeks for the fish to arrive from Thailand and another week for quarantine before being shipped to you. This ensures that your fish are healthy and acclimated before they reach your aquarium.
When your fish arrive, itโs important to acclimate them gradually to your tankโs water temperature. Ensure your aquarium is fully cycled and that water parameters (temperature, pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels) are stable. If you need any tips on setting up your tank or caring for your fish, feel free to reach out!
